May 23 Event at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York Reconvenes Board Members, C-Level Executives and Security Experts Tackling Businesses’ Urgent Cyber Risk Challenges

NEW YORK – The Cyber Balance Sheet Summit, an invitation-only board-level conference taking place on May 23, 2018, at the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York, today announced its official call-for-papers and sponsorship opportunities.

cbs logoEntering its second year, the Cyber Balance Sheet Summit draws a diverse group of high-powered attendees for presentations and panel discussions on issues around cyber risk decision-making within the boardroom. Topics include the board’s expectations, communication, cyber risk quantification, data governance objectives, and how board members interpret and use information provided by internal stakeholders, such as chief risk officers, chief information officers, chief information security officers (CISOs), and privacy/legal officers.

For 2018, the Cyber Balance Sheet Summit is opening a call-for-papers (CFP) to solicit presentations in the following track topics:

  • “Cyber as a second language” – Communicating with boards about cyber risks and ROI
  • “Putting cyber risk in context” – How cyber risk fits into enterprise risk management
  • “The metrics minefield” – Measuring cyber risk in a way that speaks to the board
  • “Building resiliency” – Building organizational resiliency and overcoming breach fatigue
  • “Cyber risk and the bottom line” – Measuring impact of security threats on shareholder value and executive compensation

Summit organizers are also opening a call for panelists for both board members, CIOs, and CISOs. The Summit will feature two free-ranging panel discussions looking at a number of risk issues – one from a board perspective, and the second from a security leader perspective.

Experts wishing to submit a speaking proposal can view more details and complete a CFP submission form here. Board members, CISOs, senior executives and those with relevant research, legal, regulatory and other backgrounds are encouraged to submit topic abstracts. The deadline for speaking submissions is March 2, 2018, and applicants can direct questions to hello@cyberbalancesheet.com.

Unlike cybersecurity conferences with more technical sessions on technology and threats, the Cyber Balance Sheet Summit delivers a strategic focus on decision-making and consequences from the boardroom and to those who oversee cyber risk management. This sets the event apart for C-level attendees, board officers, and risk leaders interested in the event’s lively debates, thought-provoking sessions, and valuable networking discussions. Interested individuals can request a Summit invitation here.

sponsor prospectus is also available for firms interested in visibility among the Cyber Balance Sheet Summit’s unique audience of senior, cyber risk-focused executives and marquee Times Square venue. At last year’s event, more than 85 percent of attendees held titles in the “C-Suite,” “Director” or “Board” categories. Detailed sponsorship options in the prospectus are available here.

In addition to a full day of engaging presentations and dialogue, Summit attendees will have an opportunity to network with researchers and survey participants behind the Cyber Balance Sheet Report, a closely-watched independent research study using in-depth surveys and interviews with corporate board members and CISOs to identify the specific cyber risk issues resonating in boardrooms and the areas that still need improvement. The inaugural Cyber Balance Sheet Report received widespread attention and media coverage from The Wall Street JournalThomson ReutersDark Reading and other outlets.
