A SOC 1 report can take your client relationships to the next level by providing assurance that your organization has the controls in place to protect their financial reporting processes.

SOC 1 Readiness Services

While stronger client relationships are a key outcome of many SOC 1 attestation initiatives, a SOC 1 examination is also an excellent opportunity to identify control enhancements around financial reporting. Focal Point’s specialists in accounting, internal audit, financial advisory, and regulatory compliance can help your organization prepare for its SOC 1 examination and enhance its controls around financial reporting.

Type 1 or Type 2?

There are two distinct SOC 1 report types: Type 1 and Type 2. A Type 1 report assesses the description of your system, as well as the suitability of your control design at a specific point in time. A Type 2 report tests the operating effectiveness of your controls to determine if they are supporting your control objectives over a period of time. While the two are similar, a Type 2 report also includes an opinion on the effectiveness of your controls and a detailed description of testing procedures and results.
