Focal Point Elevates IAM Leader to Top Sales Role

December 3, 2020

TAMPA, Fla. – Focal Point Data Risk, LLC (“Focal Point”), a leading cybersecurity services provider, today announced the promotion of Stephanie Hagopian to Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this role, she will lead global sales efforts for Focal Point, drive their go-to-market strategy, and assist in the overall strategic direction of the company. Hagopian replaces Daniel DeSantis, who has held the position since early 2019.

Previously, Hagopian served as Vice President of Business Development for Focal Point’s Technology Integration service line, centered on executing strategic identity and access management (IAM) programs. Hagopian has been instrumental in achieving the rapid and sustained expansion of Focal Point’s IAM services business line, realizing nearly 300% growth in 3 years. In that time, she also oversaw the maturation and acceleration of Focal Point’s federal services capabilities and strengthened partnerships with leading solutions providers in this space, including SailPoint, Ping, CyberArk, ForgeRock, Centrify, and SecZetta.

“Stephanie is an accomplished business leader, both at Focal Point and in the cybersecurity industry, and has been helping clients solve their greatest security challenges for more than 10 years. As the expansion of the remote workplace continues to drive identity and access management to the top of C-level priorities, Stephanie is ideally positioned to help our clients build stronger, more resilient cybersecurity programs,” said Brian Marlier, Focal Point’s CEO. “Her technical expertise, relationships with top executives in the Fortune 500, and strategic vision continue to help us accelerate our growth.”

In her new role, Hagopian will lead a team of business development representatives and solutions engineers and will oversee Focal Point’s commercial and public-sector markets. She will continue managing and expanding Focal Point’s partner ecosystem, while innovating new solutions that will execute quickly and provide tangible value to meet emerging client needs.

“As organizations further expand their investment in a cloud-based services model, Focal Point continues to bring the right solutions to market to provide an essential cybersecurity layer to digital transformation programs. Focal Point’s combination of top industry leaders and industry-leading services can help them assess, build, and manage a successful security program,” Hagopian said. “I’ve been privileged to work with this team for years, and it’s incredibly exciting to have a bigger role in shaping its future.”

Hagopian’s background as both a security analyst and sales leader makes her an ideal fit for this role, as analysts and academics continue to point to the central role that identity governance and access management plays in the modern cybersecurity ecosystem. Focal Point’s ability to seamlessly integrate its IAM services with cybersecurity consulting, compliance, testing, and training give it a highly unique perspective from which to serve clients across all verticals.

“This move also places Focal Point within a relatively small club of cybersecurity firms with female-majority executive teams, with women now helming the top positions within Sales, Operations, Finance, and our Academy business unit,” Marlier added. “While Stephanie earned this promotion on her own merits, research has repeatedly shown that gender diverse teams consistently outperform others. I’m excited about the contributions Stephanie will make both within in the sales team, as well as on my executive team.”
