Jurs most recently served as a Director in BDO USA’s Advisory Consulting Services group, where he led security, privacy, and compliance initiatives for some of the largest companies in the world.
In his new role, Jurs will lead one of Focal Point’s fastest-growing business units, which includes specialized teams focusing on cyber strategy, privacy compliance, information governance, IT risk, PCI compliance, and third-party risk management. Based in New York City, Jurs will oversee the delivery of these services globally for Focal Point.

Chris Jurs has nearly two decades of experience in professional services, specializing in healthcare, banking, pharmaceutical, and regulatory compliance. He has held cybersecurity and data privacy leadership positions at BDO and KPMG, as well as various positions within the pharmaceutical and financial services verticals. Chris has extensive experience in conducting privacy and cybersecurity assessments such as HIPAA, GDPR, and NIST CSF. He is also well versed in cybersecurity and data privacy strategy and governance, having deep knowledge in evaluating controls related to identity and access management, incident response, logging and monitoring, and the integration between data protection and compliance, operations, and sales functions. Chris is a CIPP/US.
